Voyage of Columbus 3D Screensaver Description
Voyage of Columbus 3D Screensaver recreates, in stunning detail, one of the days of the first voyage made by Christopher Columbus and his marines. They were in search of India, but discovered a new continent, which eventually led to the birth of the American nation.
On that voyage, Columbus was in command of three ships: the Santa Maria, the Pinta and the Nina. The flagship Santa Maria grounded on a reef on Christmas Eve and sank. Her remnants were used to build a fort on shore, called La Navidad, which became home to 40 marines, the first American colonists. They awaited Columbus' return from Spain.
Ships, people, and waves have been digitally recreated with accurate physics, so that they look and behave just like they might in real life, taking into account such factors as their weight, shape and speed. At times it seems that instead of a screensaver you are watching a computerized movie. Changing daytime scenes, ranging from sunny afternoons to chilly nights, add to the total realism of this screensaver.
