Build-a-lot: The Elizabethan Era - Premium Edition Game Customer Reviews

This game is great. Every time they come out with a new one, they surprise me as to how simular but different they all are. Please keep them coming.

Initial Disclaimer: I love the Build-a-Lot series, so I was going into this game with a positive expectation. That said, I enjoyed this iteration very much, though I have played only the demo hour thus far. The graphics and music reflect, of course, Elizabethan England, which is a fun change. The tasks, also, reflect the agrarian nature of society and the dangers of the era, including something that looks a bit like some form of plague. There are two types of workers in this version, generic workers and farmers. Another refinement seems to be that one can choose which upgrade to install in a house. Unfortunately -- and I may be missing something -- these seem to become visible only with the third upgrade to any given property. One will at a later level than I achieved be able also to build stone walls around properties. Unlike the first couple of Build-a-Lot versions, the gamer doesn't stay in one place, immediately forming a relationship with the mayor. Instead, one leaps from one English town to the next, returning to each from time to time. I will say, however, that, while the main map is rather featureless, levels played in a given city being marked only by a pin, the city settings are varied, and some reflect the actual locality. For example, Dover is shown atop the famous white cliffs. I will be purchasing this game!
