Department 42: The Mystery of the Nine Game Customer Reviews

LOVE IT! Ok, I reserve the right to lower my rating when I finish the game, but I am loving this. Items not too hard to find, puzzles challenging but not unbearable. it's just the right level for what I'm looking for right now. So much fun my husband is even playing it with me! Looks to be pretty long too, definitely longer than the others I've played recently. Hooray for a great new offering.

I played the demo and purchased it immediately! This is FUN!! The graphics are phenomenal, the storyline is intriguing and engaging, there is no timer, the mini-games can be skipped, the hint system is wonderful, and it gives all indications of having a very good playing time. It is well thought out; complex, but not overly complicated. You really must use logic and reasoning, while being very creative with your thinking. It is nicely "compartmentalized" to make it a bit easier to find a stopping point in order to attend to the mundane parts of life (work, cooking, housework, shopping, etc.). This is a definite winner!

I love this game. Just right amount of puzzles, HOG & mystery. Feels like you are in episodes of X-Files or something similar. Overall great storyline. I think "die-hard" supernatural enthusiasts would argue on some of the "facts" but I think it was really great that they somehow tied it all together in the end. Graphics & music are clear. It's supposed to be "dark" but never to a point that it was actually creepy or scary. Managed to finish the game w/o walkthrough, skipped 2 puzzles coz' impatient to reach ending ;). So, will definitely play it again & attempt those puzzles too.
