Nick Chase: A Detective Story Game Customer Reviews

Aside from being a bit on the short side, and having a glitch in one of the puzzles, this was a fantastic game. The designers nailed the film noir style perfectly, the graphics were stylish, and the voice acting first rate. The story line was very well done. But the main thing here is the play. This had some of the best puzzles I've played in a game of this type, and the balance was perfect. Players aren't led by the hand, but nothing was horribly frustrating, either (except for the aforementioned glitch, and one could get past it; at least I was never stuck & unable to progres). I like the hint systtem, where you find bullets in scenes, then shoot your gun. The bullet holes show your item or the next step. Fun!

Beautiful film noir artisty, and fun games, now this is how HOG/Puzzle games should play - not just hunt and peck, some real pizzaz on screen, with an apropos soundtrack. Let's hear it for quality over quantity.
